Overview
You can add custom barcodes to your Envoy Visitor badges that work with external systems. The unencrypted barcode value will be stored within the visitor record under Private Notes.
Setting up barcodes
Step one: Install a barcode integration
Install an integration that supports barcodes such as the Barcode Generator integration
Step two: Install a badge printer
If you already have a printer installed, you can skip this step!
Navigate to Visitors > Settings > Devices > Printers.
Select the printer model and give it a name.
Choose how you want to connect your printer and follow the steps shown based on your connection type. Click Save once finished.
If successful, your printer should be shown under Visitors > Devices > Printers.
Step three: Enable printing on your visitor sign-in flow
Decide which visitor flows will use printed badges.
Navigate to Visitors > Settings > Sign-in flow
Click Edit under the Visitor sign-in flow
Toggle on the option for Badge Printing
The Badge Display options will appear. Customize these as you like!
Step four: Fill out Badge Display options
Choose an integration under Barcode which will change the the badge preview image to show a barcode example. Click Save once you've made all desired changes.
✨ Tip: If you want photos to appear on your badges, make sure that Visitor photos are enabled under the Visitor sign-in flow✨
Custom Badges for Global Sign-in flows
Custom badges can be made for Global Sign-in flows as well!
To get started:
Navigate to the Global overview (top right of the Envoy dashboard)
Select Visitors > Sign-in flows.
Select which global sign-in flow you wish to edit.
Under Badge, fill out the custom options, Select the Barcode Integration and Click Save.
