How to insert badges

Before connecting your printer to Envoy, you’ll need to assemble the badge frame and insert a roll of badges.

Make sure you have the following:

  • Brother QL-820NWB or QL-720NW

  • a badge frame (if you purchased your Brother printer through Envoy, this would have been included)

Step 1: Assemble the badge frame and load the badges

Slide part A through the hole in part B.

The two pieces will align with a little notch system.

Slide the roll of labels onto the tube (part A).

On the end of part A, opposite of part B, you’ll see a small slit.

Align the notch in part C with the slit in part A to keep them together.

Step 2: Place the completed badge frame into the printer

Now the roll is assembled and Envoy-compatible badges have been loaded onto it. The next step is aligning the frame with the printer. Part A will be on the left, and Part C will be on the right. Once aligned, the frame should slip into the groove on the right-hand side of the printer. It does not click.

Feed the roll of labels down through the front of the printer and close the lid.

How to change badge rolls

Keep the label frame! It's reusable and meant to not be thrown away.✨

If you did throw it away by mistake, you can order a new one at our shop.

Open the lid, and remove the old label frame from the printer. There is no latch, so it should lift right out.

Disassemble the label frame by pulling part C off of part A. The first few times you do this with a new label frame, the pieces will be harder to pull apart. You might need to pull pretty hard to disassemble it.

Once you have the label frame apart and the badges off, you can return to step one of this article to put it together with a new roll.
