Overview
Printer alerts let your team know when a printer needs attention. You can customize these alerts to only notify about specific issues and choose which admins are notified.
How printer notifications work
Printer notifications automatically let your assigned admins know when something is wrong with your badge printer: Out of paper, Paper feed issue, incorrect paper size, cassette missing, cover open, or a paper jam.
For example, when a printer runs out of badges, an email is sent to the assigned admin, notifying them which printer needs attention.
Your Location Admin(s) will receive these notifications by default. However, you can select any administrator or employee in your company to receive these notifications. You can also turn these notifications off entirely.
Benefits of printer notifications
Know that a printer is malfunctioning before it’s an issue, not when a visitor is waiting for their badge.
Alert the people on your team who can resolve the issue quickly and effectively, rather than whoever happens to be nearby.
Notifications are automatic, so your team can act immediately to correct the issue and keep visitors moving through your workplace.
Default printer notification settings
Printer-out-of-paper notifications are enabled by default, and the Location Admin is set as the notification contact.
Changing printer notification settings
You can disable printer notifications completely or change who receives them.
How to change or add notification contacts
Locate Printer out of paper notifications and click Enable.
Use the dropdown to select which individual alerts Envoy should send.
Under notification contacts, type the employee name you wish to add, and a drop-down will appear to select from. This person does not need to be an admin.
Add a user by typing their name, and remove a user by clicking the X beside their name.
Click Save once you've finished making changes.
How to disable printer notifications
Go to Visitors > Devices > Alerts.
Locate Printer issues and click Edit.
Click Disable in the right-hand corner.
