How Virtual Front Desk billing works

You’ll need to pay for a subscription per Virtual Front Desk (VFD) license. Each license allows for one enabled location. VFD only has a Standard plan available.

VFD is only available as an annual subscription, paid upfront for a year. Your Envoy subscription starts on the date your invoice is sent, and this date is referred to as your renewal date.

Paying for multiple licenses

You must purchase a license for each location if you plan to use Envoy VFD in multiple workplaces. We do not offer location-based billing. Learn more about managing billing.

How do you define a location?

A location can be defined as a physical space or even a separate entrance within the same building. With Envoy Virtual Front Desk, each location is required to have its own license.

Calls will show which location they originate from, so it's important to have separate Envoy locations for each VFD kiosk. This helps staff know where visitors are and allows for better assistance. Each location has a separate kiosk and notification set-up, allowing different customization options to fit your workplace.

How many kiosks can be used at one location?

There is no limit to how many kiosks you can pair to one location.

Can I use Virtual Front Desk with other Envoy products?

Yes! VFD is typically used in addition to Envoy Visitors or Envoy Workplace, as a way to provide live support to visitors and employees as they sign in, book resources, or navigate the workplace.

VFD + Visitors

On the Visitor kiosk, a Call for assistance button will appear below the existing Sign in/out buttons. Each location will need one Visitors license plus a VFD license to have this combined functionality. Learn more about visitors billing.

VFD + Workplace

Since you don't need a Visitors license to use VFD, you can add a kiosk to any Workplace location to remotely assist employees! This is great for those who need to travel between offices and might have questions about access control, wifi, etc. You can configure the VFD kiosk to connect them with an off-site IT specialist or office administrator.

Envoy Connect does not currently support the use of Virtual Front Desk.

What if I no longer need a Virtual Front Desk license?

When you deactivate a VFD license, you can use that license at another location. Deactivating a license does NOT remove the license from your billing. Please contact us to make changes to your subscription.
