Enable Virtual Front Desk
Available for Global admins only
Before pairing your iPad, you'll need to enable Virtual Front Desk at the location where you want to pair your iPad.
Without an enabled VFD license or Visitor license, your iPad will display an error stating Location settings disabled.
You can turn on VFD at Global overview > Virtual front desk > Locations. Learn more about setting up Virtual Front Desk.
Naming your iPad
We highly recommend giving each iPad a distinct name. You can do this before or after the iPad is paired to your location. Once your iPad is paired, it will appear on your Virtual Front Desk > Devices page. If the iPad has a distinct name, it’ll be easier to troubleshoot any issues later. To name your iPad please make sure your Envoy Visitors app is on v 4.32.0 and above and follow the below:
Navigate to ⚙️ Settings on your iPad and scroll down to the Envoy Visitors app.
Click on the app to access its settings, and on the right, you will see Envoy Status.
Under that section, find the Device Name field.
Please enter your desired name, which will be reflected on the dashboard.
Pairing an iPad
On your iPad, open the App Store. Search for and download the Envoy Visitors Kiosk app.
Open the Envoy Visitors app and tap I have an Envoy account.
Find the six-digit device pairing code.
Navigate to Virtual Front Desk > Devices > iPads.
Type your device pairing code into the field.
Click New iPad if you don’t see a field.
Click Pair this iPad, and your iPad will pair. This may take a few moments.
To add multiple iPads, repeat these steps as needed!
