Overview - How does Avigilon work with Envoy?

Envoy will record every visitor who signs in on the iPad in the Avigilon event log and automatically create an identity for each new visitor.

You can configure Envoy to apply a certain identity type, site location, building, and/or role to your visitor records. Then, you can utilize all of Avigilon’s features for your visitors, such as badge provisioning, security alerts, and more.

Step 1: Create an admin account in Avigilon

Giving Super admin access would be easiest; however, if your team would prefer not to give that access, the login credentials being used would need the following permissions:

  • Identities Listing

  • Tokens Edit Last Area

  • Tokens Listing

  • Tokens Update

Step 2: Whitelist IP addresses

For the integration to work and connect to your Avigilon instance, please allowlist the following IP addresses:

  • 54.84.138.60

  • 54.84.66.109

Step 3: Install the Avigilon Integration in Envoy

  1. Under Access Control, find Avigilon.

  2. Enter your Avigilon account login credentials and publicly available IP address/name (and port, if necessary), and click “next step.”

  3. Enter information about how you would like visitors to be assigned Identities in Avigilon. The identity type and identity role are required.

    1. Optionally, you can choose to add a site location and building.

Step 4: Set up Employee Options

With Envoy Workplace enabled, you can restrict employee access to the workplace. Please continue with the setup by selecting your options to enable or opt out specific employees from the automation. This integration does not yet support auto-sign-in.

To restrict employee access to the workplace:

  1. Workplace Enabled: This option will enable all options in the section to be configured. Disabling this option will disable all options regardless of state (e.g., "Disabled During Sign Out" toggled on).

  2. Exclude Employees: This option allows you to select employees to entirely exclude from Envoy Workplace functionality. Suggested for employees who need 24/7 access to the building.

  3. Enable During Sign-In: This option will enable employee badges after they sign in with Workplace.

  4. Disable During Sign-Out: This option will disable employee badges during sign-out from Workplace.

  5. (Not yet available) Share Badge data with Envoy: Share employee sign-in data with Envoy to track occupancy and attendance.

    Step 5: Complete the Setup

Please click Complete Setup to save your configuration

How do Envoy entries look in Avigilon?
