This article shows how visitors can make Virtual Front Desk calls with Envoy mobile. Are you an admin needing to set up your Virtual Front Desk? Check out our admin configuration articles!

Overview

Envoy's Virtual Front Desk connects visitors and employees to a designated virtual receptionist. On the day of your invite, you'll be able to make an outbound call from the Envoy mobile app.

Downloading Envoy mobile

To use VFD mobile, you'll need to download the Envoy mobile app from the Apple app store or Google Play store. After downloading the app, you'll need to login with the same email used on your visitor invite.

App permissions

In order to make outbound calls, Envoy mobile will need to have access to your phone's camera and microphone. You can check this under your phone's โš™๏ธ Settings > Envoy.

Making a call

You can call a virtual receptionist by tapping on the Call for assistance button on your invitation card. This will initiate a call to the company's virtual receptionist, who will be able to assist you with your upcoming visit. The call is recorded for transcription and kept for reference by the company's admin team.

Either party can end the call; just tap on โŒ End button.

Troubleshooting

Not seeing the Call for assistance button? It's possible the company you're visiting has their receptionist's hours of operations set to Away.

Not seeing your invitation? Make sure you've logged into Envoy mobile with the same email that is shown on your invitation.

Having connection issues? Ensure your connection is stable - a wifi connection will usually be stronger than calling on a cellular network.
