Prism by Building Engines

Connect your Envoy instance to Prism to automate the creation of guests to your workplace.

Updated today

Overview

The Prism by Building Engines + Envoy Visitors integration automatically syncs visitor access between Envoy and the Prism building operations platform. When visitors are invited, updated, or removed in Envoy, their access is reflected in Prism, helping building operations teams maintain an accurate, real-time view of who is expected on-site.

This integration streamlines visitor access management across properties, reduces manual coordination, and ensures a consistent, secure experience for both visitors and building staff.

PREREQUISITES

  • You must have admin access to install this integration.

Configuration

Step 1: Connect to Prism

  1. Navigate to your Envoy dashboard, click Integrations > All integrations and search "Prism by Building Engines" Click Install to begin configuration.

  2. Enter the Username (email) and Password of the API admin user.

  3. Click Next to login and move to the next step.

Step 2: Visitors

In this step, you'll configure how visitors will be granted access to your workplace via Prism.

Decide how you'll grant access:

  • Default: All visitor types use the same building, organization, space, and duration for their credentials. This is a good option for smaller workplaces with straightforward access requirements.

  • Flow-based: Map different visitor flows to different buildings, organizations, spaces, and durations. This option is great for workplaces with specific visitor types and strict access rules.

Default access

  1. Select Default.

  2. Set the Building that visitors will be registered against.

  3. Select the Organization that visits will be created under.

  4. Select the Space where visits will be created.

  5. Set the Visit duration to define how long a guest's credentials are valid. Select from 1-24 hours.

  6. Click Complete Setup to save and finish configuration.

Flow-based access

This setup option follows the same structure as above, but you'll need to define the options for each sign-in flow you want to grant access to.

  1. Select Flow-based.

  2. Select your sign-in flow, then complete the following:

    1. Set the Building that visitors will be registered against.

    2. Select the Organization that visits will be created under.

    3. Select the Space where visits will be created.

    4. Set the Visit duration to define how long a guest's credentials are valid. Select from 1-24 hours.

  3. Once you have all options populated, you can Add Another sign-in flow and repeat step 2.

  4. Click Complete setup to save and finish.
