SCIM Groups for Emergency Notifications

Learn how your IDP can sync with Envoy to create employee groups for emergency notifications.

Updated over a month ago

Overview

Requirements:

  • SCIM Employee Groups are automatically populated to Emergency Notifications when groups are assigned to Envoy within the SCIM provider and/or when syncing the department, division, or organization profile attributes to the Envoy Employee Directory.

How to use SCIM groups with Emergency Notifications

Employee groups allow you to create custom audiences in your Emergency Notification Messages and Templates. When your messages include employee groups defined by your IDP, you can rely on quick, accurate communication with those who need it.

Note: SCIM groups and profile attributes are not Envoy location specific. If a SCIM group is selected as a recipient, the notification will be sent to everyone in the selected group, not just to the employees in the Envoy location where the emergency notification is created.

Add a group to an Emergency Notification Message

  1. In the Envoy Dashboard, navigate to Communications > Message Log

  2. Click the Send New Message button

  3. Fill out the message

  4. Under the "Employees" section, click Add employee groups

  5. Select the default groups that you wish to receive the message.

  6. Click the Send Now button

Add a group to custom templates

  1. Create a new template from the Envoy Dashboard by navigating to Communications > Templates > New

  2. After filling out your template, click Add Employee Groups

  3. Choose the default Groups / Departments to receive this message.
