Overview
Business travelers are often the most vulnerable employees and the hardest to monitor. When employees travel, they leave their home base and workplace behind, making location-based security focused only on those areas ineffective. If a threat arises near their accommodation or transit routes, a security team without travel data won't know about it, and they may not be able to react quickly.
Traveling employee protection closes that gap. By connecting your corporate travel data through the Navan integration, Envoy knows who is traveling, where they are, and when. Those travelers appear on the Threat Dashboard alongside your workplace locations and employee homes, so your security team can see at a glance whether an active threat reaches someone on the road and act on it right away.

Why it matters
Travelers are in unfamiliar places. An employee at a conference in another city may not know the local risks the way they know their home office. Envoy brings that awareness to your security team.
Duty of care extends to the road. Your responsibility for employee safety does not pause when someone leaves the office. Traveling employee protection gives you the same visibility and reach for people in transit that you already have for on-site staff.
Travelers are hard to locate in a fast-moving event. During an active threat, knowing exactly who is nearby and reaching them quickly is what matters. Pulling live trip data into the dashboard means you're not scrambling to reconstruct who was where.
PREREQUISITES
You must have a connected travel integration. Traveling employee data comes from Navan, so you must set up the integration before any travelers appear on the map.
How travelers appear on the map
Once you connect your travel data, travelers are treated as an employee group on the Threat Dashboard.
Travelers appear based on their active trip. Each traveler is plotted using the current segment of their trip, whether that is a flight or a hotel stay, so their position on the map reflects where they actually are. This means in-flight employees will populate at an airport.
Travelers appear when their trip is active. A traveler appears on the dashboard shortly before a trip segment starts and stops appearing once it ends, so the map reflects who is genuinely on the road right now rather than everyone who has a trip booked.
Travelers are reflected in impacted counts. When you open a threat, the impacted breakdown separates people who are on site, at home, and traveling, so you can quickly see whether a threat reaches employees who are away. Learn more about recipient counts.
Employees on the same trip are nested together. If more than one employee is staying in the same hotel or is planned to be at the same airport, the airplane icon includes a traveler count. Clicking the icon displays the full list.
Full itinerary on demand. Selecting a traveler shows their trip details, including each flight and hotel segment with locations and timing, so you can understand their movements at a glance.
VIP travelers will still appear as stars, though they'll have an airplane indicating their travel status. This is a great way to monitor executives who are often traveling between worksites and client sites, especially if you use VIP alerts.
