VIP Protection for Response

Designate employees as VIPs to receive alerts about relevant threats.

Overview

Envoy Response lets you monitor specific employees, such as executives and other VIPs, and get notified the moment a threat appears near them. Instead of watching an entire region, you designate individuals, draw a radius around each one, and decide who is alerted when a threat lands inside that radius.

By adding VIPs, admins can track each VIP at their current location, whether that is their home address or an office location.

šŸ’”Before you set VIPs, be sure to familiarize yourself with the Threat Dashboard, as this functionality is built upon that dashboard.šŸ’”

By setting organization-wide VIPs, security teams can:

  • Designate the executives and VIPs they want to monitor.

  • Set a radius around each VIP and configure exactly who is notified when a threat occurs within that radius.

  • See every VIP on the Threat Dashboard map as a star icon, placed at their home or office location, if they've been checked in.

  • See how many VIPs are impacted by each active threat.

Designate a VIP and create a monitoring rule

VIP monitoring is configured with one rule per VIP, and each rule is configured independently. This means you can give each executive their own categories, severity thresholds, radius, and notification recipients.

  1. Click Edit next to Organization-wide notifications settings.

  2. Here, you'll see notification rules. Next to VIPs, click + Add rule.

  3. Select a VIP by typing their name and selecting it from the drop-down. This person must be in the employee directory at one or more locations.

  4. Select the Category you want to be alerted for.

    1. Available categories: Crime & Violence, Civil Unrest, Transit & Transportation, Infrastructure & Hazmat, Global Security, Travel Risk & Advisories, Public Health, Weather, Environmental Hazards.

  5. Select the Threat severity: Critical, High, Moderate, Minor.

  6. Select the Radius from the VIP's location(s), from 0.5 mile - 100 miles.

    1. If you have home addresses being synced via HRIS integration, you can receive alerts relevant to the VIP's home address.

    2. If you have presence integrations, you can receive alerts relevant to a location a VIP has been checked into.

  7. Set contacts to receive notifications under Who do you want to notify? These contacts must have access to the global threat dashboard in order to be selected.

  8. Select the Delivery method(s): SMS, Email, or Mobile push via the Envoy app.

  9. Click Save notification to complete adding this VIP.

VIPs on the Threat dashboard

VIPs will appear on the map as stars, alongside other affected people.

If they are checked into an office, they will be counted in the on-site population as well as showing in a separate VIP list.
