Overview

Screens uses iframe technology with embed URLs to show content from another website, such as a video, map, or entire websites, directly on your own device. If your website is compatible with embeds, you can display it throughout your workplace using Screens!

Set up

To create an external embed link for your custom content, first ensure that the website you want to use allows for embeds. Many apps (sites, providers), such as Waze, provide an embed link, while some do not.

In this example, we'll review how to get an embed link for Waze. Showing this site in your workplace is great if you have many employees who commute by car. It can be shown at all times or added to a content schedule to display only at the end of every day.

Step 1: Getting an embed link

Depending on the content you want to display, sourcing an embedded link will vary. Many websites provide help guides for generating the embedded link, so be sure to search for that if you're having trouble finding a link!

Navigate to the Waze website: https://www.waze.com/live-map.
In Waze, right-click and click on Share.
Select Embed a map. This will auto-generate a shareable embedded link.
Click Copy to grab the link.
Now you have the link copied and can add it to a playlist.

Step 2: Add an embed link to a Playlist

Adding to an existing Playlist

In the Envoy dashboard, navigate to Screens > Playlists.
Click on the Playlist name to edit its content.
Click the + plus icon, then select URL as the Content type.
Paste the URL from the website you want to display into the entry box and select Website from the dropdown. Click Add.
Your content will load into the Playlist.

2. It will automatically save, but you can click Sync to push the content to any paired screens instantly.
To assign the playlist to the screen, navigate back to the Screens and select your playlist from the Content dropdown.
