Overview

When you receive an invite to a workplace that requires document uploads, you’ll be prompted to submit them as part of pre-registration. This article walks you through completing that process.

This article is for visitors who have been invited to a workplace that requires document upload before coming on-site. Are you an admin looking to set this up? See our Enable Required Documents in Sign-in flows article!

Step 1: Open your invite email

Your invite email will include a note that the required documents must be uploaded during pre-registration. Click Register now to open the pre-registration form.

Step 2: Document(s) upload

After clicking Register now, you’ll complete the pre-registration form. When you reach the Documents step (in the left-hand navigation), you’ll see a list of required documents for your visit. Click on a document name to open its upload screen.

On each document’s upload screen, you’ll see the document name, any instructions from the host, and an upload area. Drag and drop your file into the upload area, or click select a file from your computer.

Accepted file formats: PDF, JPG, PNG

Step 4: Review and continue

After uploading, a preview of your file will appear. If you need to replace it, click Clear and re-upload. Once you’re satisfied, click Next to move to the next document. Repeat for each required document, then complete the rest of the pre-registration form.

What happens after you submit

Once you complete pre-registration, your documents are submitted for review by the host organization. Here’s what to expect:

  • Approved: Your document has been accepted, and you’re all set for your visit.

  • Rejected: You’ll receive an email with the reason your document was rejected and a link to re-upload. You can re-upload without restarting the entire pre-registration process.

  • Missing documents at check-in: Depending on the company you're visiting, you may be blocked from checking in or flagged at the front desk if required documents are missing or unapproved.

FAQs

Can I upload documents after I’ve already completed pre-registration?

  • If a document is rejected, you’ll receive an email with a link to re-upload it. You won’t need to restart the entire pre-registration process — only the rejected document needs to be resubmitted.

What file types are accepted?

  • PDF, JPG, and PNG files are accepted.

What if document requirements change after I’ve already registered?

  • If requirements are updated after your invite is sent, you’ll see the new requirements the next time you open your pre-registration link. Compliance is evaluated against the latest configuration at the time of your visit.

I didn’t see a Documents step during pre-registration. Why not?

  • The Documents step only appears if the location you’re visiting has configured required document uploads. If you didn’t see it, no documents are required for your visit.
