Cove

Learn how to connect your Envoy account to populate visitors into your Cove instance.

Overview

The Cove + Envoy Visitors integration automatically syncs visitor access between Envoy and Cove, helping security teams manage guest entry with greater accuracy and less manual effort. When visitors are invited, updated, or removed in Envoy, their guest visits are reflected in Cove, and access is automatically activated when they sign in on-site.

This integration ensures your team has a real-time view of who is expected and on-site, while delivering a seamless, secure visitor experience.

Configuring your Cove integration

Step 1: Credentials

  1. Search for and click on Cove then click Install.

  2. Provide your Cove admin Email address and Password.

  3. Enter your Site ID, Group ID, and Host ID. These fields are all provided by Cove.

  4. Click Next Step to save and continue.

Step 2: Visitors

In this step, you'll configure how visitors will be granted access to your workplace via Cove.

  1. Decide if you want visitors to receive Cove notification emails by checking Send Cove visitor emails. If you leave this option unchecked, all communication will be sent via Envoy. This is a communication preference and does not impact how the integration functions.

  2. Restrict to pre-invited visitors only: Click the checkbox here to grant credentials only to invited visitors, ignoring walk-in visitors.

  3. Access Configuration mode: Choose either Default Access (all visitors receive the same group and credentials) or Per-Flow Access.

  4. Default Access:

    1. Access Duration: Define how long visitors will have access via Cove after their arrival time.

    2. (Optional) Visitor Blocklist: Select visitor flows that will not receive Cove credentials.

  5. Per-Flow Access:

    1. Select the sign-in flow to configure with Cove and set the Access Duration.

    2. Click Add Another and repeat this process for any visitor type you want to automatically provision access to.

  6. (Optional) Floor sign-in fields: Select the sign-in fields that include floor options for each visitor flow. You can map these to Cove floors in the next step.

  7. Sign-out behavior: This field determines how Cove handles access after a visitor signs out via Envoy. Canceling is the only supported sign-out behavior today, so it will be listed as the default.

  8. Click Next Step to save and continue.

Step 3: (Optional) Floor mapping

Map Envoy floor options to Cove floors. Floor options will include the flow name to help you distinguish between flows. For floors without a mapping, we'll automatically match them to a Cove floor by name.

Not mapping floors? Click Skip and Complete to save your configuration.

  1. Select a Floor mapping loaded from Cove, then a corresponding Cove Floor.

  2. Click Add another for each Floor mapping and repeat.

  3. Click Complete Setup once you have added your Floor mappings.

How Envoy visitors look in Cove

Admins can view Envoy-synced visitors by navigating to their Cove dashboard > Visitors.

Clicking View Details will open the details panel.

The Host and Registered By fields in Cove will always display the user and email used in setup. This does not directly correlate to the Envoy dashboard. For the most detailed record of your visitors, refer to their Envoy visitor entry record.
