Subscription note: The Meraki integration was available on our Legacy Workplace Premium plan. Our current Workplace plan requires an Enterprise platform for access to Presence.
Overview
Meter provides all-in-one services for networking hardware, software, and support.
Envoy lets you automatically sign in employees when they connect to your Meter-powered Wi-Fi network. When an employee's device connects to the Wi-Fi network, Meter sends the corresponding device information to Envoy. Envoy then matches the MAC address to the employee and records them as on-site.
Configuration
PREREQUISITES
You must have admin access to your Meter account.
Generate an API key in your Meter dashboard. Navigate to Settings > Integrations > API keys to create a new API key. Copy and securely store the key; it is only shown once. You will be using it in the first step of configuration.
Envoy must have an accurate mapping of employee MAC addresses to emails. This can be done via CSV or an MDM service such as Jamf or Intune. More details are shown in Step 4 below.
Step 1: API Access
Navigate to Integrations on the Envoy Dashboard, search for Meter, then click Install.
Click Connect Account to launch the connection window.
Enter your API Key and Company slug, then click Save.
Once the connection is established, click Next Step.
Step 2: Network
Using the drop-down menu, select the location's Network.
Click Next Step.
Step 3: SSID
Using the drop-down menu, select all SSIDs to monitor for employee sign-ins.
Click Complete Setup.
Step 4: MAC Addresses
See main article: Managing employee MAC addresses
Wifi presence signals received from the Meter API contain device MAC addresses, but do not contain an email value that Envoy can use as an employee identifier. Therefore, you must create MAC address mappings for employees so Envoy can associate a Meter Wifi presence signal with an employee.
You can view all current MAC addresses on the global overview.
Sync MAC addresses from MDM (recommended)
If your organization uses Jamf or Intune, you can automatically pull employee MAC address mappings via direct integration. This is our suggested method of managing MAC addresses, since the integration will update mappings as soon as they change.
CSV Upload of MAC addresses
Navigate to Global Overview > Manage > Account settings.
Scroll down to MAC address mappings and click Edit.
Click Add mappings, then Import from CSV.
The CSV upload window will open. Click Select CSV file, then select the file you wish to upload.
Click Upload.
MAC Address Randomization
Employee devices connecting to Meter Wifi Networks must have the MAC Address randomization/masking setting turned off; otherwise, the lookup for the employee's MAC address will not work.
For Mac devices:
From the Apple menu , choose System Settings.
Click Wi-Fi in the sidebar, then click the Details button or More Info button

next to the network name.
From the menu next to Private Wi-Fi Address, choose Off, Fixed, or Rotating. Learn more about these settings.
